3rdFriday is a cloud-based mobile and desktop application that intelligently connects medical residency program managers and applicants. 

Background

The 3rd Friday of March marks a significant date for the medical community (and for the many thousands waiting to join in). “Match Day”, as it’s dubbed, is the official day medical students are placed into a medical residency program. And for the medical program leadership, it is the official start date of the next yearlong recruitment cycle. Medical Residency Program Managers must review thousands of inbound applications. They endure the daunting administrative task of coordinating the process of candidate selection from inviting candidates for interviews to scheduling interview dates. Come mid-September, they are over burdened with the complex task of trying to optimally fill in the interview dates, while accommodating the time constraints of their prime candidates. At the same time, the residency applicants must coordinate their travel plans across various competing medical programs, which for many are distributed all around the country.
